The taste of summer in nz

The natural spring they pinched the mineral water from was established in 1880. There were some stories from around 1904 onwards that reckoned spring water with some lemon flavour-ing was being made, but to be sure we took the date from when the blokes at Menzies & Co started bottling the stuff – so established in 1907 is the official date on the bottle. It then got pretty popular right around the country and became a bit of a national treasure soon after.

Paeroa, the

home of L&P..

Paeroa is a choice little town in the North Island of New Zealand. Over 104 years ago, some local blokes found a spring of natural mineral water there and mixed it up with some lemon juice. It tasted pretty sweet so they named it ‘Lemon’ after the lemons and ‘Paeroa’ after Paeroa. Then they bottled the stuff and chopped the name down to L&P. Pretty choice eh?
